**EN:** China Press (中国报) was founded on 1 February 1946 in Kuala Lumpur by Tun Henry Lee Hau Shik (李孝式), making it one of the oldest Chinese newspapers in Malaysia. It relaunched in 1986 after a period of suspension, and by 1988 had grown from 20,000 to 100,000 in daily circulation — the fastest-growing paper in Malaysia at the time. In 1993, Nanyang Press assumed management of China Press. Both are now owned by Media Chinese International Limited (MCIL), dually listed in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
